- Create A Multi-Tier Member List

Introduction

In this article, we'll discuss the member list for Multi-Tier Programs. The list can be found on the Member List tab > Manage Member List sub-tab.

Member List Grid

As you can see, there are four different contact lists (tiers) each having a different point bracket value. The starting point bracket for the first tier is 1-250, meaning, if a member has 1 to 250 tier points, they are in this tier. For every transaction, they earn 1 point. The second tier is 251 - 500, and 1.5 points are issued per transaction. The third tier is 501-750 points, and double points are issued. The final tier is 750+ and 2.5 points are issued per transaction. If the program rules issue 1 point per $1 spent or 1 point per visit check-in (1:1 format), and the member is in the final tier, each $1 transaction or visit check-in earns 2.5 points.

Tier points are earned alongside check-in points or based on the currency spent. The current tier points ratio is 1:1. For example, if a single check-in earns 10 points, the system will also award 10 tier points per check-in.

NOTE:

Tier PointsThe Total Spent point total equals the Tier Points i.e. Member spends $10 and point ratio is 1:1, Tier Points equals 10. If the point ratio is 1:3, the member Tier Points equal 30. For Check-In programs, if a member checks in and the point ratio is 1:1 but receives double points on the check- in, the tier points will equal 1 and member redeemable points will equal 2.

To create a new list, press the New Record button.

To edit one of these lists, click the three dots under the action column or the list name.

How Are Tier Points Earned?

You have the choice of how to earn tier points. You can opt to earn tier points solely through Check-in and Spending, or you can include Tier Bonus Points as well. Additionally, you can choose to earn tier points through Check-in, Spending, Tier Bonus Points, and all other bonus points. By default, for all businesses participating in Tier Programs, the option for "Check-in, Spending, and Tier Bonus Points" is selected.

NOTE:

Check-in and spending only - Tier points are earned for each check-in or currency unit spent.
Check-in, Spending & Tier Bonus Points - Tier points are earned for each check-in or currency unit spent. If the tier issues bonus points, they are also added.
Check-in, Spending, Tier Bonus Points & All Bonus Points - All points earned are added to tier points, including check-ins, spending, and all bonus points.

Creating New Multi-Tiered List

First, choose the list type.

NOTE:
  • No Point Bracket: The list has no point association related. Members (dynamic term) stay in the list until manually moved.
  • Continue Point Bracket: The point brackets increase in point value based on bracket point rules created. Members advance to higher tier brackets when tier points are reached.
  • Copy Tier One: This setting will create a copy of the first tier. It is typically used if you manage multiple businesses under one program and want to keep separate lists.
  • Copy All Tiers: This setting will create a copy of all tiers. It is typically used if you manage multiple businesses under one program and want to keep separate lists.

If you want to create a new list and add more tiers, you can do it here. As you can see, the tier bracket starts at the last value of the previously created tiers. Next, make sure to assign a point value for the new tier.

NOTE:
  • Enter the value range required to qualify for the reward point tier level. For the last level you can add "infinity" for infinite points. Only one level is allowed to have infinite points. If this rule is broken an error will trigger and you will not be allowed to save the member list level. A member's tier points are equal to their Total Spend for spending programs and Total Visits for Check-In programs.
    • IMPORTANT: If manually subtracting a member’s tier points, manually move them to the appropriate tier.  Point Values can be in half values,i.e., 1,1.5,2,2.5 etc. and will follow the systems point rules created, i.e., a 1.5 point value would be a 50% bonus on all transactions when the end user is in this member list, 2 would be a 200% (a double point offer). There cannot be a number below 1.0. The member in the member list receives the bonus points whenever the transaction is posted. This adds points to the redeemable point bucket. The tier points never earn bonus points.

Additionally, if you want to create a new list that is not part of this bracket tier, you can create a No Point Bracket list. This could be a marketing list not tied to spending. You may also copy a tier or all the tiers if running multiple locations inside the program that are require separate tracking.
